Support berms for Sunkar drilling barge

The core of the berm consists of limestone quarry run, supplied from quarries in Karaganski Bay. The core is protected with rock and concrete mats. The top surface had to be graded within narrow tolerances to provide a flat foundation pad. Major design issues were related to establishment of the metocean conditions and the protection of the drilling barge against ice.

WITBO-Niping prepared the basic and detailed designs, prepared permit documentation and supported permit application. WBK prepared tender documentation, participated in the tender procedure and supervised during construction.
